Pin The Rock On Goliath
by Mike
A new spin on a old game. Are they as brave as David?
Materials: White board, chalk board or poster board. Sticky Tac® Blindfold.
Preparation:
Before class, draw a picture of Goliath on the board. It is also fun to explain that Goliath was over 9 feet tall.(1 Samuel 17:4). Roll the Sticky Tac into a ball about the size of a golf ball.
What you will do:
Explain to the children that it will be their job to stick the rock (Sticky Tac) on Goliath's forehead. Before starting, instruct the children that they are never to throw the Sticky Tac. Blindfold the child, spin them around several times, hand them the rock (Sticky Tac) and point them in the right direction. The results are hilarious.
Noah Says Bible Game

Noah Says
by Craig
In this version of “Simon Says”, dogs bark and beg, cats meow and lick their paws, and ducks quack and waddle
What you will do:
First divide the children into three teams, and have one team be dogs, the other cats and the third team ducks. The kids will catch on to this game quickly.
Explain to the teams that they are to be dogs, cats or ducks. Dogs bark and beg (arms raised and hands pointing down as if begging for food.) Cats meow and pretend to lick their paws (hands), and ducks quack and waddle (bending down with hands touching shoulders like wings.) Then give the instructions below.
When you give the commands preceded with “Noah says”:
Noah says "bark"
Noah says "meow"
Noah says "quack"
Noah says "beg"
Noah says "lick"
Noah says "waddle"
Noah says "be still"
all creatures bark
all creatures meow
all creatures quack
all creatures beg
all creatures lick
all creatures waddle
all creatures stop
When you give the commands without saying Noah says first:
"Bark"
"Meow"
"Quack"
"Beg"
"Lick"
"Waddle"
"Be still"
only dogs bark
only cats meow
only ducks quack
only dogs beg
only cats lick
only ducks waddle
animals keep doing what they are doing
Any child who does not follow the command correctly has to sit out the rest of the game. The team with the last remaining player wins. Then mix up the teams and play again as time permits. Note: For the older children, you can combine commands to make it more difficult, for example:
Noah says, "bark and waddle" (everyone barks and waddles),
Noah says, "Lick and quack" (only cats lick and only ducks quack)
What you will say: Compare this game to our need to follow God in everything we do. When we follow Him, not only do we have fun, but we also please Him. As the animals followed Noah into the ark to be safe from the flood, God gives us his protection when we follow him and trust Him with our life.

Memory Verse Basketball
by Dian Mazzei
A challenging game of basketball intertwined with memory verses.
Materials: Nerf™ basketball hoop & ball
Preparation: Purchase an inexpensive Nerf™ basketball hoop and ball. You can pick up a set for $4 from www.hasbro.com
What you will do: Open your Bibles and read the current memory verse. Say the verse aloud with the entire class several times. Line up the kids, or make two teams. Before handing each child the Nerf™ basketball he or she is required to say the current bible memory verse. If the child repeats the verse correctly, he or she can shoot the basketball. If the child fails to repeat the verse correctly, he or she goes to the end of the line.
If playing with two teams, the chance to repeat the verse alternates between the two teams. To make the game slightly more competitive keep track of how many baskets each team has scored. This is also a great tool for reviewing past lessons.
Knock-Knock Bible Game

Knock-Knock
by Len
A child selected to be king will judge the other kid's ability to describe a situation that is pleasing to God. If accepted by the king, they can enter his kingdom.
Materials: Index cards, Basket or Shoebox, Chair for a throne, Crown (optional)
Duration: 15 minutes
Topics: Godliness, Walking with God, Pleasing God, Values
What you will do:
Write the following words on index cards, one word on each card, and place the cards in a shoebox or basket. Repeat the words as needed to have enough cards for each child.
KINDNESS
GENTLENESS
FRIENDLY
PATIENCE
COMPASSION
FORGIVENESS
Select one child to be king (or queen). Have the King sit on a chair (throne) at one end of the room, and have the remaining kids draw one card from the basket. Then have them line up in front of the king. The object is for children to come up with a situation that describes the word on their card. For example, if they picked the card KINDNESS, the child may say something like "My little brother wanted to play with my toys, so I let him. This is Kindness." The king will judge if the situation truly described the word kindness, and if so, will let the child enter the kingdom.
What you will say:
(After selecting the king and lining up the children with their cards) The king is a very wise king. He wants to be sure you know what is pleasing to God before he lets you enter his kingdom. That is why the king gave each of you a word. You must show the king you know the meaning of the word by giving an example of something you can do that matches the word. For example, if your word is CARING, you could give me an example like "My grandma was sick, so I help her by cleaning her house." If the king agrees that your example describes being CARING, he will let you enter the kingdom. If he does not agree, you pick another word from the basket, go to the end of the line and try again.
The play starts with each of you saying, "Knock-Knock." The king will ask, "What word do you have?" then each of you, in turn, will say your word and then your example. If the king accepts your example, he will say, "Please enter my kingdom." If the king does not accept it, he will say, "Sorry, be away with you."
The make believe kingdom in this game may resemble heaven, but it is not heaven. There is no way to get to heaven on our own, not by what we know or what we do. That's because heaven is a free gift. Only by receiving Jesus in our heart do we receive this wonderful gift. However, as children it is important to know what behaviors are Godly and what behaviors are a result of a sinful nature. By knowing the difference, we can begin to recognize there is a lot of sin in our life. When we admit we are sinners, we begin to understand the need for God's grace and forgiveness.

Help the Missionaries
by Mike
Teams compete to see who's missionary will be able to build a church first.
Materials:
White Board, Review Questions
Duration: 15 minutes
Topics: Giving, Serving, Missions
What you will do:
It has been said that points are cheap, so give kids a lot of them during game time. Wouldn't it be great if the kids could do something with the points once they've earned them? In this game, the kids get to use the points they earn to help fund imaginary missionaries. Divide the children into two teams. Have a list of 14 review questions ready. The review questions with a lesser point value should be easier. As the questions get progressively harder, the point value goes up. The point values of your questions should correspond to the following list. Make a list on the board that resembles the following:
Food to eat and water to drink.
Shelter in which to live.
Missionary Training.
Bibles to hand out.
Plane fare to mission field
Bicycle to get from town to town.
Build a new church.

As each team gets points place a check mark next to the appropriate point value on the board.
What you will say: All of you have been doing a wonderful job and have been working very hard. We're going to play a review game now to see how much you remember. When your team answers a review question correctly, you will get points. Each team will use these points to buy things for their missionary. Missionaries need many things to be successful. They need food and water, shelter/housing, training, Bibles, and plane fare to get to the far away country.
It might also be helpful for a missionary to have a bicycle, so they could travel from town to town. It would be wonderful if you had enough points to help them build a new church. The team that helps their missionary the most wins. Kids may pick the country in which their missionary is located.
