Memory Verse Basketball
by Dian Mazzei
A challenging game of basketball intertwined with memory verses.
Materials: Nerf™ basketball hoop & ball
Preparation: Purchase an inexpensive Nerf™ basketball hoop and ball. You can pick up a set for $4 from www.hasbro.com
What you will do: Open your Bibles and read the current memory verse. Say the verse aloud with the entire class several times. Line up the kids, or make two teams. Before handing each child the Nerf™ basketball he or she is required to say the current bible memory verse. If the child repeats the verse correctly, he or she can shoot the basketball. If the child fails to repeat the verse correctly, he or she goes to the end of the line.
If playing with two teams, the chance to repeat the verse alternates between the two teams. To make the game slightly more competitive keep track of how many baskets each team has scored. This is also a great tool for reviewing past lessons.
